As part of the Business Roundtable's Multiple Pathways Initiative, FSG has collaborated with 80 leading companies and non-profit organizations to provide toolkits, best practices, and resources to implement skills-based practices.

Over the past five years, Walmart has invested over $140 million in frontline skills-based advancement, working alongside leading nonprofits, employers, government agencies, educational institutions, associations, tech providers, and other key funders. This significant investment has led to tangible results and a continued focus on driving change beyond the company's business operations.

The Retail Opportunity Initiative is a prime example of this commitment. Launched in 2015, this five-year, $100 million philanthropic effort aimed to accelerate careers in retail and related sectors. The initiative included four pillars: data mobility, narrative shift, quality data and insights into workers' skills, and the adoption of skills-first people-led, tech-powered practices.

The Retail Opportunity strategy includes four pillars, with a focus on greater workforce opportunity, which ultimately drives growth for the US economy.
